THE DEEP Filming Locations

St. George's Cricket Club 1976 was a special year for the  Bermuda Cup Match  and The Deep was there to capture the action during the game's 75th Anniversary. Cloche ( Louis Gossett ) and Treece ( Robert Shaw ) discussed raising the ampules from  Goliath  as they watched the  Bermuda Cup Match  at St. George's Cricket Club,  56 Wellington Slip Rd, St Georges GE 02, Bermuda . Most of the scene was filmed live amongst spectators at the real Bermuda Cup Match in 1976. Much of  The Deep  was inspired by Bermuda's real underwater exploration history and there are discreet acknowledgments throughout the film. However, sometimes it's possible to read too much into a scene and assume there are  Easter eggs  that may just be random props with no deeper meaning. Kevin  ( Robert Tessier ) and Ronald's ( Earl Maynard ) outboard motor fight was filmed inside the Bermuda Department of Environmental Protection, Marine Resources Section cottage at  3 Coney Island Road, Saint George, Bermuda, CR 04 . The fight between Kevin and Ronald occurs late in the film but a deleted scene in the  extended TV version  shows  David ( Nick Nolte ) and Gail ( Jacqueline Bisset ) walking through the cottage before they meet Kevin at what the novel called "Kevin's lunch". Deleted scene where David ( Nick Nolte ) and Gail ( Jacqueline Bisset ) meet Kevin ( Robert Tessier )  (Source  Sony Pictures ) The scenes at 'Kevin's lunch' captured the appearance of a former Quarantine Station before it was renovated in the late 20th century. The Quarantine Station had previously been at Nonsuch Island and was  moved to Coney Island  in 1914.
